Rhys McRoberts
Singer. Dancer. Actress. Choreographer
About Me
Rhys McRoberts (She/Her) is a passionate singer & dancer originally from Salt Lake City, Utah. Her passion for music began at age 7 when a church choir instructor reached out to her Mom and asked if she could enroll Rhys in voice lessons. I felt at home right away there. Maddie Tarbox, her first vocal coach, turned her onto the Theatre/Acting world right away, and the rest is history.
Dance has always been apart of Rhys’ life. She found her love for it at age 8 in a Musical Theatre/Jazz class. From there she joined a competitive ballroom dancing troupe at age 11, and found herself tapping at age 13. After high school, she made it into Southern Virginia Universities dance team and spent the next 3 years as a Crimsonette. Her team won First Overall 2 years in a row in hip-hop, jazz and power pom. Since then, she has continued to nurture and further educate herself in the world of dance.
In college, Rhys continued to study the art of acting in theatre. She not only stage managed shows, but starred in many productions. Favorite roles included Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Ernest, and Rapunzel in Into the Woods. She also continued her vocal studies both 1:1 with her mentor Doctor Mackenzie Romriell, and also in the choirs, accapella groups and commercial bands that she participated in.
Since college, Rhys has auditioned for anything and everything, hoping to broaden her horizons and strengthen her skillsets. She has played noteable roles such as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Georgianna Darcy in Pride & Prejudice, U/S Judy Haynes in White Christmas, and most recently, Maureen Johnson in RENT.
Not only has Rhys been sharpening her acting, singing and dancing, but has also been an educator, choreographer and assistant director in the community. She has volunteered and worked at The Wayne Theatre and The Off-Broadway Players. Rhys hopes to continue to fight for arts education, and to help as many people as she can in the community find a home in the theatre.
